Overview:
This lively, informative course is a must for every Hospice Volunteer Coordinator. The basics of your job will be covered from meeting the regulations/standards to handling personnel issues. You will gain valuable insight on how to recruit, train, and manage volunteers, as well as how to establish risk management policies. This course lays the foundation for you to excel as a Volunteer Coordinator in Hospice and is perfect for the Coordinator who is new to the job/field, or for those seeking to improve skills.
Objectives:
- Identify risk management along with post pandemic recovery and emergency preparedness.
- Identify and learn federal and state regulations.
- Dive into recruitment methods, appreciation, and retention.
- Learn to identify appropriate volunteers through interviews and gain knowledge of alternative resources valuable in training new volunteers.
Speakers:
Sue Risch, BSW, Volunteer Coordinator
Sue has 20 years of experience in volunteer management. She currently serves as the Volunteer Coordinator of Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis.
Maureen Fox, MSW, Retired Volunteer Coordinator
Maureen has 30 years of experience as Volunteer Manager at SSM Hospice.
Debbie Coots, Volunteer Coordinator
Debbie began her career with Compassus in January of 2009 as a Program Assistant. That title was deleted and she began assisting with the volunteer and bereavement programs. She officially became a Volunteer Coordinator in 2014.
Angel Gregory, Volunteer Manager
Angel Gregory (she/her) has been a volunteer manager at Village Hospice since Spring 2017. She is a member of several committees, including MHPCA Volunteer Coordinators, We Honor Veterans, and is a co-chair of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Action. (I.D.E.A.)
Bonnie Krause – Volunteer Manager
Bonnie has 14 years of volunteer management in hospice.
Stephanie Marquart – Volunteer Manager
Stephanie Marquart is the Supervisor of Volunteer Services. She has been Mercy Hospice for 14 years.

Seminar Information:
The cost for this seminar is $160.00 for members & $185.00 for non-members.
Late fee of $40 after 5/13/2022.
There are no refunds, however substitutions are welcome.

Registrants will receive the Zoom link and call in information the week of the training.
General Certificates are Free.
Upon completion of this course each attendee will be required to complete an evaluation. Each participant will then receive a general certificate. Each attendee must complete the entire course to receive the certificate. Certificates will be distributed to attendees after returning the sign in sheet and evaluation to MHPCA.
